Marshall, Dec 3 -- Some of the citizens here attended two funerals this week at  Bloomingdale, four miles west of this place. On Tuesday afternoon  at 2 o'clock services were held with Rev. CC Griggs in charge for  John HART 90 who died Sunday evening at 4:30 o'clock of heart  trouble. He was one of the few remaining Civil War veterans. Mr.  Hart is survived by his wife and one brother, William Hart of the  soldier's home at Danville, Ill. Mrs. Hart was the father of five  children, but they have all passed away. Services were held  Wednesday morning at 10;30 at the Bloomingdale Friends church for  Mrs. John DEERE, with Rev. LG Rosand in charge. Mrs. Deere was  taken ill on Thanksgiving and was taken to Robert Long Hospital,  Indianapolis Friday and an operation for strangled hernia was  immediately performed and she passed away Monday afternoon at 2.  Mrs. Deere is survived by her husband, who is confined at his  home with a broken hip. Also one son, Gordon Deere of  Bloomingdale, and one daughter, Mrs. Audrey Phillips of  Montezuma. ---- typed by kbz
